DON'T STEAL TATTOOS!

FIND YOUR OWN UNIQUE DESIGN - A good tattoo artist can draw AND tattoo anything you'd like. Sketch something close to what you want. You don't have to be an artist...remember, your tattoo ARTIST can draw it for you, just give him/her the idea. Also, try finding design ideas from photos, paintings or drawings from books, magazines, etc.; they don't have to be photos or pictures of tattoos.

NOTE: If you are planning on getting "Chinese writing" (ie. kanji) or "tribal" tattoos or any other tattoos that carry a cultural meaning that you don't understand, please be aware that the odds are very high that you'll look like a jackass to anyone who actually does know the meaning.

VISIT TATTOO STUDIOS - Look through as many tattoo artist portfolios you can. Get an idea about who's work you like and, whatever you do, DO NOT shop around for the best price. This is an investment you will have to live with for the rest of your life!!!

EXPRESS YOURSELF - Finding a design for a tattoo that's all your own will pay off....you'll spend many happy years looking at your own little (or BIG) work of art.
